Frequently Asked Questions

What position will I be in during a session?

You'll be positioned face-down on a treatment bed during most of your treatment. Throughout the session, we encourage you to focus on various areas of your spine. This practice helps you develop heightened awareness over time.

At Albany Spinal Flow, we discourage falling asleep during your treatment. Why? We believe in your active participation in your health and healing process. Staying connected to your body is a powerful way to facilitate this journey.

What can I expect to feel during a session?

Spinal Flow treatments are exceptionally gentle and safe. Our approach involves using precise, gentle physical touch on specific points located on the cranium and sacrum, which we refer to as "access points." These points offer our practitioners a direct pathway to the nervous system, often called the "master controller" of the body.

Clients frequently describe their experience during a Spinal Flow session as profoundly relaxing. Many report feeling a deep sense of connection to their bodies. Some liken it to a tranquil meditation, while others find it challenging to put into words—simply put, it's a unique and individual journey.

What is the Spinal Flow?

The Spinal Flow wave represents the innate and organic movement of your spine. It's a subtle yet profound phenomenon that becomes more noticeable during a Spinal Flow treatment and often more noticeable after a few sessions. This wave typically manifests in three distinct ways: through movement, sensory perception, or breath.

At times, the Spinal Flow wave is so gentle that it might escape your notice unless you intentionally pay close attention or possess a high self-awareness about your internal physiology. However, many clients describe a unique sensation during their sessions – a feeling that something is stirring within them. It's often described as a deeper connection to their own body, a heightened sense of awareness.

Why do you hold group sessions?

At our practice, treating more than one client simultaneously is a part of our healing philosophy. During our training, we learned the value of multi-client sessions and found them incredibly effective ways of facilitating healing. Treating multiple clients concurrently tends to elevate the healing intention and intensity.

Rest assured that your privacy is always a top priority, even though you're in the same treatment space. We allocate separate times for any necessary conversations between clients and practitioners, ensuring that sensitive matters are handled discreetly.

Our experience has shown that multi-client sessions foster a natural flow and effortless healing dynamic. It works for many individuals seeking holistic wellness.

How often will I need to have healing sessions?

The frequency of your treatments is a highly individualised aspect of your healing journey.

Here's why: Just as every person is unique, so are their healing requirements. Some individuals may experience immediate results, while others find that their recovery takes time. Those with long-standing acute issues may require more frequent treatments to kickstart their healing journey.

As clients start to notice changes and healing in their bodies, the frequency of treatments often decreases. Our typical treatment sessions run for 20 to 30 minutes unless you opt for longer appointments. Notably, children tend to respond swiftly to treatment.

Your treatment frequency is tailored to your unique circumstances.

How much to sessions cost?
